To expand on my last post about the importance of connection, I wanted to talk about "my tribe." The definition of a tribe is a group of people, or a community with similar values or interests. Motivational speaker Jim Rohn famously said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with - aka your "tribe."
Take a minute to think about what that looks like for you. Who are the five people you spend the most time with?
As circumstances in my life have changed, my tribe has changed. When I miscarried in my early twenties, I surrounded myself with others who had experienced that loss. When I got divorced in my early thirties, I found comfort in those who had also had to start over. And as I am standing up my own business, I am surrounding myself with successful solopreneurs who were in my shoes just a few short years ago, but are killing it now!
In short, I have realized the importance of surrounding myself with passionate, motivated, successful people who are willing to help me.
I am so thankful for my tribe!
What does your tribe look like? Do they motivate you to be a better version of yourself? If not, are you willing to make the shift to reach your full potential? I hope so! Because you deserve it!
